Dave Hill is a Northern California comedy hypnotist based in Hayward, California. Known professionally as "The World's Greatest Hypnotist," Dave has built a long career entertaining audiences with interactive comedy hypnosis shows.

Comedy Hypnosis Career

Dave has performed more than 16,000 hypnosis shows over the past 39 years at casinos in Las Vegas, Reno and Atlantic City, as well as comedy clubs, colleges, high schools, state fairs, festivals and theme parks such as Great America.

His corporate entertainment experience includes performances for organizations such as GE, eBay, PayPal, Google and the Golden State Warriors. Dave performs for school, college, corporate and special-event audiences throughout Northern California.

Television & Notable Performances

Dave has appeared on television programs including MythBusters, where he hypnotized Grant, Tory and Kari as part of a segment exploring hypnosis and memory.

Lessons From Las Vegas

Some of the most important lessons Dave learned about entertainment came from legendary performers during his years in Las Vegas. Those lessons became part of the way he approaches every audience and every show.

Frank Sinatra taught Dave generosity onstage: The volunteers are the stars of the show.

Charlton Heston taught Dave command of the instrument: Your voice is part of the performance.

Wayne Newton taught Dave discipline: Give every audience everything you have, adapt to the room, and never assume there will be another show.

Wayne also taught Dave something that sounds like a contradiction, but really isn't: meticulously structure the show—and be prepared to change it. That's the difference between simply knowing a routine and knowing how to entertain an audience.

Wayne also taught Dave how to handle attention away from the stage: be gracious when someone recognizes you, then turn the conversation toward them. Ask a question. Take an interest in their story. The encounter doesn't have to be about the entertainer.

It is a lesson Dave still follows today: you don't have to enjoy attention to appreciate the person giving it to you.

Hypnosis Training & Credentials

Dave is certified as a Master Hypnotist by the National Hypnotism Training Institute and as a Certified Hypnotherapist and Advanced Hypnotherapist by the National Guild of Hypnotists. The International Hypnosis Federation certifies him as a Professional Stage Hypnotist, and Advanced Neuro Dynamics certifies him as a Hypnosis Trainer. Dave also trained for many years with the late Gil Boyne.
